Dhanush confirms the news about teaming up with filmmaker Aanand L Rai on the sidelines of his recent media interaction for The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir here in Mumbai.
Tamil superstar Dhanush made his Bollywood debut with Aanand L Rai directorial Raanjhanaa in 2013 and fans have been waiting for the filmmaker and actor to team up again. And now Dhanush confirms that he is indeed teaming up with the filmmaker.
When asked about teaming up with filmmaker Aanand L Rai, actor Dhanush said, “It is true. I will be teaming up with Aanand L Rai and more than that – when, what, how – I would rather not say”
The film also starred Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in lead roles. The film was made in Hindi and later dubbed in Tamil. The film received huge response at the box-office and its music is still popular.
Dhanush has craved his niche in Tamil and Hindi cinema, now the actor is promoting his first international project “The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir” – which is directed by Ken Scott.
Talking about his experience working on international project, Dhanush said, “It was great experience and it was learning experience for me. I got to travel a lot, met a lot of people from many industries, a lot of actors from around the world. It was great learning experience. I really enjoyed learning from all those wonderful peoples and technicians”
Now that the actor has worked in Tamil, Hindi and English films, when asked about the difference in varied film industries, Dhanush said, “For me as an actor, it was the same for me, like Tamil, Hindi and English Films. It was the same for me, I had to just go and do my job and comeback. It felt the same. For me the most important thing was to do justice to the character…Just like any of my other films, I hope people like the film, people like my work in the film. And I am hoping for the best” he added.
The film also stars Bérénice Bejo, Erin Moriarty, Barkhad Abdi, Gérard Jugnot, Ben Miller, Abel Jafri, Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, Kay Greidanus and Amrutha Sant in pivotal roles.
It is based on a novel by Romain Puertolas, the film releases on 21 June 2019.
