Shahid Kapoor says his character in upcoming romantic drama Kabir Singh, is flawed but his intention are pure, and he has the ability to surprise and impact audience.
Team Kabir Singh –Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani hosted an interaction press-meet to promote the upcoming remake of Arjun Reddy in Mumbai.
When asked about critiquing his own character, Shahid Kapoor said, “If I start critiquing my own character than I won’t be that character, critiquing about my character is audience’s job. My job is to represent the character honestly and to play him how he is and its audience job to tell me which part they liked and which they didn’t. See good and bad are parts of life but the most important is the intent”
“Intent is the most important when I do a character. And I think Kabir Singh has very pure intent but he is flawed. He behaves in different ways, and that is why he is a character is probably worth watching on the big screen because he has the ability to surprise you and he has the ability to make an impact. Because of the he is and that is how I saw it” added Shahid Kapoor.
Kabir Singh is an official remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy and it is written and directed by Sandeep Vanga, who helmed the original. The film is jointly produced by Cine1 Studios and T-Series.
It focuses on the title character, an alcoholic surgeon who goes on a self-destructive path after his girlfriend is forced to marry someone else.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on 21 June 2019.
