​Playing Marathi Mulga In Malaal Says Meezaan Jaaferi

Meezaan Jaaferi is all set to foray into with world of Bollywood with his forthcoming Malaal. In the film he will seen playing a rough-neck local boy Shiva, the actor says he did some research before bringing the character alive on-screen.
Talking about his role actor Meezaan said, “I am playing a Marathi Mulga in the film but in real life, I am not at all like that, and that is just my character. He is lower middle class Marathi boy, he lives in Chawl, and I had to adapt my character according to that”
“I even went to Chawls, looked around, and interacted with people. I tried to learn their culture and I have tried to incorporate that into my character” said actor on the sidelines of an event in Mumbai.
The first song of the film, Aila Re is out, which features Meezaan in full power dance mode. Talking about the song, he said, “The song Aila Re, it has my full power dance. And this song is closest to me because Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir has made it himself along with other songs as well”
“Apart from that the song is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who is such a big name in dancing, so I had a wonderful experience with him and this something I will never forget for rest of my life” added actor.
Directed by Mangesh Hadawle, the film also marks the debut of Sharmin Segal, niece of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie is the story of Shiva and Astha, two very different people from contrasting backgrounds who experience the innocence of love.
The film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, and Krishan Kumar. The film will release nationwide on 5th July 2019.
