Actress Deepika Padukone has started shooting for her comeback heart warming real-life based drama titled Chhapaak, based on an acid attack survivor brave heart Laxmi Aggarwal.
The first look and release date for the film are out and Padukone has undergone an incredible transformation for the Meghna Gulzar directorial, in which she will be seen playing an acid attack survivor named Malti.
The film is based on the journey of Laxmi Agarwal, who was attacked with acid at the age of 15 and won hearts with her indomitable spirit.
Deepika appears to be in full prosthetic makeup in the image, which shows her in an artistic pose that highlights the scars and burns on her character’s face. In addition to revealing the first look, Deepika announced that filming on the project will commence today. Chhapaak will be released on January 10, 2020.
The actor had shared the picture on Monday, announcing the film’s release date and the commencement of filming. She called Malti, ‘a character that will stay with me forever’.
Chhapaak is an upcoming biographical film produced by Leena Yadav in collaboration with Fox Star Studios. It also stars Vikrant Massey in the lead role.
