After proving her acting capabilities, Tisca Chopra is gearing up to direct her first feature-length film and confirms it is a thriller and there is no pressure as she dons a hat, turns director.
Tisca Chopra graced the premiere of Free-Solo film here in Mumbai. During her media interaction the actress shared little sneak-peek into her debut project.
Talking about the pressure of directing a film, Tisca Chopra said, “I don’t know, I am just doing my work and I am not thinking about the pressure right now. But yeah, I think it is the next logical step forward for me, I am very happy and excited”
Tisca Chopra also confirmed the genre of the film, she said, “It is a thriller”.
Free Solo is docu-drama by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, a film documenting climber Alex Honnold’s historic rope-free ascent of El Capitan’s Freerider in Yosemite. The film also bagged the Best Documentary Feature Academy Awards.
Talking about the thrilling and exciting different kind of cinema, Tisca Chopra said, ““As someone who is living in India, I get to see such films only when I am travelling aboard, and MAMI and NatGeo are doing a great job, by bringing the film to India. Because there are so many people, who want to watch stuff. We can watch stuff on Netflix, Amazon and portals like that but it is a different experience to watch a film in a theater with proper acoustic, proper sound and of course with other people. It is a very collective experience, I’d love that”
Noted for her stellar performance in Taare Zameen Par, Tisca Chopra has also penned a book titled Acting Smart. Her short film, Chutney, which was produced under her company The Eastern Way, won two Filmfare Awards (Best Actress and Best Short Film) recently.
Tisca will also appear in Karan Johar’s romantic-comedy Good News, where she will co-star with Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. She has finished shooting for the film.
