After Priyanka Chopra, Now Serena Williams Joins Bumble As An Investor

Tennis star Serena Williams has joined actress Priyanka Chopra as an investor of social and dating application Bumble.
Bumble, the woman-first social network with over 50 million users worldwide, announced today that Global Advisor Serena Williams, who starred in the company’s first-ever Super Bowl ad #InHerCourt earlier this year, will be joining the organization as an investor and active member of the Bumble Fund. The Bumble Fund, launched in 2018, focuses on early-stage investments, primarily in businesses founded and led by women of color and underrepresented groups.
“In my life, and today more than ever, I’ve learned how impactful one woman’s voice can be when given a platform to speak and be heard,” said Serena Williams. “I am passionate about building on this progress and opening doors for women of all backgrounds, especially women of color, to share their message and trust in their potential to accomplish great things. By joining forces with the Bumble Fund, we will continue amplifying female entrepreneurs and creating a place for them to personally and professionally champion their growth.”
Williams has been investing in women and minority-owned businesses since 2014 through Serena Ventures.
“When we launched our #InHerCourt campaign with Serena Williams this past January, we were amazed by the overwhelming response we received from women globally who felt empowered by our message,” stated Wolfe Herd. “In teaming up with Serena for the Bumble Fund, we want women everywhere to know that we are here, we are listening and we believe in you. We are giving women more keys to success, while encouraging them to push their ideas forward and keep thinking big when it comes to their business ventures.”
Prior to her work with Bumble, Williams has invested in over thirty companies through Serena Ventures, focusing on underrepresented founders or problems, empowering creativity or empowering oneself, and future technology. The synergy between Serena Ventures and the Bumble Fund made for a natural addition to the Williams/Bumble partnership.
