Late actor Amrish Puri was considered one of the best villains in the history of Bollywood. The actor’s powerful voice, deadly, scary looks, and often demonic body was all enough to petrify people.
Actor Anupam Kher getting nostalgic took to his Instagram handles and shared Amrish’s unique style of calling Anupam ’Bachha’. The ‘Wednesday’ actor to pay a tribute to late Amrish penned down few lines for him. Anupam expressed though he played the toughest villains in Indian and International cinema, he was a childlike innocence from inside. Adding to it Anupam shared the cover photo of a magazine titled Evil Under The Sun.
Missing his friend and feeling great to be called as ‘Bachha’ Anupam wrote, “I miss #AmrishPuri ji. He was the gentlest person I had the privilege to be friends with. He was calm and compassionate. He had a childlike innocence. And yet he played the toughest villains in Indian and international cinema. One of the most professional actors. Punctual and disciplined. He would often say to me, “yaar! tu bada naughty bachcha hai!!” Not many people have called me a bachcha (young boy). It felt great. And I would reply,”Amrish Ji, tussi great ho!” And he would giggle like a baby. Amrish ji, you will always be GREAT.”
Amrish Puri died at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on 12 January 2005 following a prolonged illness. He was 72. Puri suffered a blood clot in the brain and slipped into a coma, adding he was also being treated for malaria.
