Actress Ankita Lokhande who is debuting in Bollywood with ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ thanked the makers for the journey and said the most beautiful part was to be directed by Kangana.
Ankita interacted with the media at the trailer launch of ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ on Tuesday in Mumbai.
Lokhande earlier was known to be debuting in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. When asked if it is true and if she regrets not debuting with the renowned director, she said, “I don’t know about debuting with Sanjay sir but ya I was about to do a film with him. As for comparing a debut with him and this film, I think there is no such thing as a perfect debut. It is up to you, what you do with the film you have and make it perfect.
In this film, I gave my best to the part I have played and the most beautiful thing was to be directed by Kangana. So I am thankful for everything.”
At the trailer launch, Ankita was accompanied on stage by her director and co-actors Kangana Ranaut, Mishti, Suresh Oberoi, as well as producer Kamal Jain, writer K.V. Vijayendra Prasad and music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
The actress mentioned a special thanks to the makers for the big debut in the industry, she said, “Thank you Kamal sir, for this debut and I am super excited for it and super nervous too. Whatever is happening right now is something very new for me. I would just like to say Kangana and Kamal sir thank you for your support and this journey.”
‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, an epic biopic on Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi. Kangana Ranaut will be seen playing the titular role of Rani Laxmibai while Lokhande will be seen in the supporting role of Jhalkaribai.
