Actress Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu are “off to work” for their forthcoming sports biopic “Saand Ki Aankh” based on the real-life medal winning sharpshooters Tomar duo.
Saand Ki Aankh is based on India’s oldest sharpshooters, octogenarians Chandro and Prakashi Tomar. The duo is popularly known as the ‘revolver dadis’ or ‘shooter dadis’ of Johri, Uttar Pradesh.
Bhumi Pednekar is playing the role of Chandro Tomar, while Taapsee is in the role of Prakashi Tomar.
Sharing the details about the film progress, Bhumi took to her social media and shared some candid stills from the location. Bhumi and Taapsee are seen driving a tractor in the fields and another still, they were dressed in the familiar rural attire – ghaghara-choli, and carrying guns, to practice.
Saand Ki Aankh is being directed by Tushar Hiranandani, marking his debut. The film is currently being shot in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. It is jointly produced by Reliance Entertainment, Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar.
In the meantime, Bhumi Pedenkar will be seen in Sonchiriya, also starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in the lead roles. The film is directed by Abhishek Chaubey, slated for 1st March release.
Taapsee Pannu will be seen in Badla, also starring Amitabh Bachchan.
