Bollywood giant Shah Rukh Khan along with his son Aryan Khan has been cast as Musafa and Simba in the Hindi Dub of Disney’s upcoming live-action version of The Lion King. The “Zero” stars says it was fun dubbing with his own Simba (Aryan) after 15 long years.
The actor Shah Rukh Khan just took to his social media profile and wrote, “Glad to be a part of this journey…a timeless film. Voicing it in Hindi with my own Simba. The last time we did a film was around 15 years ago and it was ‘Incredible’ and this time around it’s even more fun. Hope everyone enjoys it 19th July onwards. #TheLionKing”
Earlier, in 2004, Aryan, then seven-years-old, dubbed for Dash in The Incredibles – Shah Rukh Khan voiced Mr Incredible – and that’s pretty much his only experience till date, barring a scene in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in which he appears as the toddler version of his dad’s character.
The Lion King is an upcoming musical drama film directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. It is a photorealistic computer animated remake of Disney’s traditionally animated 1994 film of the same name.
The film stars the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and James Earl Jones reprising his original role as Mufasa.
The film will be out 19th July 2019.
