Actress Alia Bhatt says sharing the screen space with Madhuri Dixit has been an opportunity and every actor has idolized her in some way or the other.
Kalan Team, which included Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur held a press-meet in Mumbai to promote their forthcoming period drama.
Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit Nene set the screen on fire with their “Ghar More Pardesiya” song from Kalank.
Now Alia Bhatt shared her experience working with legendary actress and dancer, she said, “Every actor or young girls have idolized Madhuri Dixit, in some way or the other, with her grace, her dance, even with her smile. And it was very encouraging for me to have her present there, actually smiling at me. Whenever I was feeling a little nervous, she supported me, and it is something I will definitely remember for the longest time”
Talking about her feelings when she found out that she will shaking a leg with Madhuri Dixit, she added, “First I felt relief that Madhuri Dixit was not dancing with me, which was followed by fear, as she is not dancing but she will be there watching me, and then I got confused what’s worse, not dancing or watching me. But honestly I am feeling great that I got this opportunity, and all thank goes to my director, who pushed me to work hard on myself and allowed me to share this iconic moment with Madhuri Dixit”
Kalank is directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Fox Star Studios.
It stars Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Kunal Khemu and Kiara Advani in the leading roles. It is a period drama set in 1945 in the pre-independence British era.
The film is scheduled for release on 17 April 2019.
