The official trailer of “The Good Liar” starring veteran Ian Mckellen and Helen Mirren is out. The film chronicles a seasoned conman finds himself growing to care for the woman he orchestrated his latest scheme against after meeting her online.
The thriller is directed and co-produced by Bill Condon and written by Jeffrey Hatcher based on the novel by Nicholas Searle.
Career con artist Roy Courtnay (McKellen) can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish (Mirren) online. As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life.
The ensemble also includes Russell Tovey and Jim Carter.
McKellen and Condon previously worked together on Beauty and the Beast, Mr. Holmes and Gods and Monsters.
“The Good Liar” was filmed on location in London and Berlin. It was produced by New Line Cinema and will be distributed by Warner Bros. in theaters on November 15.
