Karan Johar recently released films like the period drama Kalank followed by Tiger Shroff’s Student of the Year 2, both multi starrers did not fare well at the box office. He is currently gearing up for his directorial return with his ambitious project Takht and has now announced the production house venturing into the horror genre.
While many big studios in India have shied away from horror, recent Anushka Sharma release Pari restored the faith in the genre. More films like Stree, Game Over, Khamoshi have come forward since then and so has Karan Johar. The filmmaker shared the news on social media and wrote, “Film announcement on Monday! STAY TUNED! @apoorva1972@bhanu.singh.91 @shashankkhaitan@dharmamovies”
Johar known to bring forth romantic films shared a poster which reads, “Dharma Productions is anchoring a new franchise of fear. November 15, 2019.”
Some of the beloved last few Dharma Productions releases were, “Badrinath Ki Dulhania”, “Raazi”, “Dhadak”, ‘Kesari’ and more. Karan is also backing Aayan Mukerji’s fantasy trilogy ‘Brahmastra’ starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan.
