Actor Saqib Saleem is all geared to explore digital territory with his new web-series Rangbaaz on ZEE5 studios. The series was screened last night here in Mumbai and while interacting with media, the actor said he is not feeling competitive at all.
The digital medium is exploding in India, with back to back series coming out of big production houses, it sure creates a competitive market and puts pressure on actors, but Saqib believes otherwise.
He said, “I am not feeling competitive at all; this show is different (than others). This is a new show, it doesn’t have any comparison with any other show or older show, either there is any competition. Those shows have their life and this show will find its destiny, whatever that might be”
“Rather than focusing on competition, one should focus on making their show better. If you operate with the sense that other shows are better than us or we’re better than other shows, then I don’t think anyone can make a good show. I think we need to work on the material, the script, and once that is sorted, we need not worry about other things” added Saqib.
The new crime web series – Rangbaaz – is based on the story of the short-lived rise of the infamous Uttar Pradesh criminal Prakash Shukla. It stars Aahana Kumra, Saqib Saleem and Kubra Sait in the lead roles.
Talking about the exploring new medium, Saqib said, “There is always nervousness with new work. You only do it because you like it, but will people like it, that is one question that is always running in your head. Today first time someone from outside is watching it. I did it because I liked it; I hope as much as I liked doing it, people like it too”
Bollywood celebrities such as Sonakshi Sinha, Bobby Deol, Rohit Roy, Daisy Shah and more graced the special screening of ZEE5’s new crime web-series Rangbaaz along with cast members Saqib Saleem and Aahana Kumra.
