I am usually worried about the film during the initial 15-20 days. I am still a student of cinema; I try and watch every film regardless of language”
Sharing some pointers for a new writer, Yunus said, “Everyone’s got talent, one just need to give it some direction. Watch a lot of movies, especially by Bimal Roy, Rishikesh Mukherjee, Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra, V Shanta Ram, or try and assist someone, learn the nuance of craft, understand your culture and audience”
Yunus Sajawal comes from humble beginnings and worked his into the world of cinema. Talking about his early days and struggle, he said, “My elder brother was a director and my father was a tailor and our shop use to be right in front of Ranjeet Studio. I actually never thought that I wanted to be a writer. I started by helping my brother with his screenplay, and with time I got into writing screenplays full time”

Challenge yourself, like I did, when I did Partner and Bombay To Goa at the same time. If you want to come here for just glamour, please don’t waste your time, you would never find success. Only your passion will keep you alive in this industry”
