Shailendra Singh has acquired rights to Mumbai based dance group King United’s life story and soon a film on the global champs will kick-off!
Mumbai-based hip hop dance group Kings United India was declared the global champs of the American reality show, World of Dance. The dancers won high praise from judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough for their cinematic Bahubali-style performance, choreographed by Suresh Mukund.
Taran Adarsh dropped the deeds on the project. He tweeted, “Shailendra Singh acquires rights of Mumbai-based dance group Kings United’s life story… Kings United were declared global champions of American show #WorldOfDance… Shailendra is in talks with writers, production talent and director to translate their story on celluloid”
The team has been together for over 12 years and it’s leader, Suresh, had inspired the Bollywood musical, Remo D’souza’s ABCD 2, featuring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor.
The film will chronicle the life of dance troupe from Nalasopara to Las Vegas and there world domination in dance.
