Sidharth Malhotra And Kiara Advani Remembers Captain Vikram Batra
Team Shershaah – Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani remembers Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra on his 21st Death Anniversary, unveils a motion poster on social media.
Vikram Batra sacrificed his life while fighting intruders from Pakistan during the 1999 Kargil War. He was born on September 9, 1974, in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, he started his military career from December 6, 1997, with the 13th battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of Indian Army. He was part of one of the most crucial battles during the Kargil war which included capturing Tololing mountain range and Pt 4875. The Pakistani Army dreaded him – so much so that they called him “Sher Shah”.
Actor Sidharth Malhotra took to his social media and dropped the teaser. He captioned it, “Salute to the Indian army for their undying service to the nation and To our Kargil hero #VikramBatra who laid down his life today, 21 years ago”
Actress Kiara Advani also shared the same, she wrote, “Etched in history & hearts forever. I Pray & hope that the courage and bravery of our Indian army lives on forever within every Indian. Remembering the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) today”
Shershaah is a biographical war action film directed by Vishnuvardhan and co-produced by Karan Johar. The film traces the life journey of Param Vir Chakra awardee and army captain Vikram Batra, it stars Sidharth Malhotra in a double role, as Batra and his identical twin brother Vishal; Kiara Advani plays the role of Dimple Cheema.
Initially scheduled to be released on 3 July 2020, the film was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This also marks Vishnuvardhan’s directorial debut in Bollywood and Hindi film.
