Anurag Kashyap thanks Saiyami Kher for 3 Year wait to Complete ‘Choked’

Film ‘Choked: Paisa bolta hai’ is currently streaming on Netflix and the film is garnering good response from the audience. Saiyami Kher who plays the lead role in the film is being appreciated a lot for her acting. In a thankful note to her, director Anurag Kashyap shares a photo of him with hers and writes a heart-warming message.

‘Dev. D’ director writes, “This was the day she did the kitchen scene with Sharvari Tai…believe it or not…the entire scene she did in one take…First take and she was so good @saiyami…We didn’t take another shot of her…she made me cry on the monitor…she trusted and waited more than three years for the film to be realised…my favourite picture of us from the sets of #chokedpaisaboltahain now on @netflix_in pic by @khamkhaphotoartist”

Saiyami made her debut with the film ‘Mirzya’ in the year 2016 post which she was not seen in any bollywood movie. Though her debut film could not garner any acclaim but praise has been pouring in for her after the release of ‘Choked’. Her patience has now paid her well!!

Anurag Kashyap who is known to give something different to the audience each time has once again given something unique, a film in the backdrop of 2016 bank note demonitisation. Film tells the story of a bank employee who is under deep debts because of her husband and she finds cash flowing out of her kitchen sink.

Film is currently streaming on Netflix.

Saiyami Kher is Excited About ‘Choked’ Releasing On Netflix

Movie release days are always full of excitement and nervousness for the actors as this is the day when their months of hard work are judged by the audience. Actress Saiyami Kher is also sailing in the same boat today as her film Choked releases on Netflix today. The actress shared her experience working on the film.

The ‘Mirzya’ actress shared a photo of hers with the clapboard from the film and wrote, “The experience of Choked has been similar to running a full marathon. These 5 Movies Releasing On OTT Are Not To Be Missed

India is in the phase 1 of its opening post a long lockdown but this will not mean that people can openly go out and enjoy. The fear of corona-virus is still lingering on in the country and everyone wants to keep themselves safe and sound. Choked – This Anurag Kashyap movie’s trailer has already created the right buzz. Gulabo Sitabo – Directed by Shoojit Sircar, this film is what audience cannot wait for! Film is a story of eponymous glove puppet characters, Gulabo and Sitabo who reside in Uttar Pradesh. It is a story full of local humour and songs depicting day to day struggle of a common man. Film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles. The film streams on 12^th June.

Penguin – This south film will be making its premiere on Amazon prime on the 19th. This mystery thriller is directed by Eashvar Karthik and is a story of a pregnant woman played by Keerthy Suresh.

Law – Actress Ragini Chandran will make her debut with this Kannada film which is a story of a law graduate who is fighting her own case in the court. Veteran actor Mukhyamantri Chandru will be seen playing the role of judge in the film. The film has been written and directed by Raghu Samarth. The film streams on 26^th June.

Ludo – This dark anthology comedy film directed by Anurag Basu features Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. The film is divided into four chapters each telling a different and unique story. Film will be released in the month of June on Netflix.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, starring Saiyami Kher and Roshan Mathew, the first official trailer of Netflix Original film Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai, is out!

Anurag Kashyap dropped the trailer on his social media profile. He captioned it, “Here is the trailer for our labour of love “Choked – Paisa bolta hai “ Only on @NetflixIndia featuring @SaiyamiKher @roshanmathew22 @AmrutaSubhash @rajshriartist @Upendralimaye written by @misterbistar”

Saiyami Kher will be seen as Sarita Pillai, whom she described as a 30-year-old overworked middle-class woman, and the sole breadwinner of the household. According to a press release, her life is stuck in a rut but only changes direction when she finds a continuous stash of money under her kitchen sink.

The trailer uses demonetization, as plot remises and spins a riveting tale around it. The demonetization serves as the inflection point in the graph of Saiyami’s character, who discovers currency notes wrapped up in small plastic bags stored in a leaked pipe inside her apartment.

Meanwhile, Mathew will be seen as a struggling musician, who dreams of making it big after moving to Mumbai. However, every attempt is met with a failure, which also affects his marriage.

Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai marks Kashyap’s fourth collaboration with the streaming giant. He has previously directed a short for the anthology films Lust Stories, and an adaptation of Vikram Chandra’s Sacred Games. Both projects were nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2019.

Actress Saiyami Kher just dropped the first look poster and release date of movie titled Choked, its been helmed by Anurag Kashyap and will release on 5^th June.

Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming Netflix film, Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai will stream on 5^th June. The suspense drama stars Saiyami Kher and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles.

Choked is written by Nihit Bhave. Set in Mumbai, the story centres on Sarita Pillai (Saiyami), a bank cashier who finds an unlimited source of money in her kitchen. Her husband, Sushant (Roshan), is a struggling musician with dreams of making it big. The film follows their journey through the balance of power and greed.

Choked is Anurag’s fourth outing with Netflix. He had previously co-directed both seasons of Sacred Games, in addition to his segments in Lust Stories (2018) and Ghost Stories (2020).
