Hansal Mehta And Rajkummar Rao Are Overwhelmed With Omerta’s Response

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta and actor Rajkummar Rao are probably the new-age Jodi of Bollywood which has created a niche for parallel and content driven cinema, with their latest collaboration Omerta, hitting all the right notes with audience, the filmmaker-actor duo are nothing but overwhelmed with such amazing response.

‘Omerta’ is based on the life of British Born Pakistani terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh, helmed by Hansal Mehta and stars Rajkumar Rao in the role. The film explores the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India for which Omar was arrested and served time in prison and the plotting of murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta just took to his social media and shared a candid still with Rajkummar Rao and wrote, “Thank you for the outpouring of appreciation. #Omerta was a difficult journey but a very satisfying journey. We were very happy making it. Glad I’m alive to witness the overwhelming love it is receiving. It gives us strength for the forward journey. Love to the entire team”

Actor Rajkummar Rao also replied to the same and wrote, “To Many more sir. #Overwhelmed by the response our labour of love #Omerta is getting. Thank you @ZEE5Premium for your support”

The film also features Rajesh Tailang, Rupinder Nagra and Keval Arora in key roles. Film has been co written by actor Mukul Dev who has done detailed research about the character. Film is streaming on ZEE5 and it surely demands a watch super soon!

Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao’s next collaboration is Chhalaang, which is a social black comedy drama, also starring Nushrat Bharucha.

It is produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg and Bhushan Kumar. The plot is set in a small town of Uttar Pradesh.

Bollywood Pours Condolences For Filmmaker Rajat Mukherjee

On one side the world is trying to overcome the coronavirus pandemic. And on the other side, Bollywood is losing its stars. Filmmaker Rajat Mukherjee who was known for directing films like ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiyaa’, ‘Road’ and ‘Love In Nepal’, passed away on Sunday.

According to the reports he was dealing with multiple health problems and was suffering from an illness for a long time. Many Bollywood celebrities paid their condolences for the filmmaker, such as Manoj Bajapyee, Hansal Mehta, Anubhav Sinha, Urmila Matondkar, Vivek Oberio and more.

Bajpayee shared the news on social media. He wrote, “My friend and director of Road, Rajat Mukherjee passed away in the early hours today in Jaipur after a long battle with illness!!! Rest in peace Rajat!! Still can’t believe that we will never meet or discuss our work ever again. khush reh jaha bhi reh.”

Director Hansal Mehta also shared on twitter, “Just got news about the passing away of a dear friend. Rajat Mukherjee director of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Road was a friend from our early, early struggles in Bombay. Many meals, many bottles of Old Monk consumed. Many more to consume in another world. Will miss you dear friend.”

Anubhav Sinha wrote, “Another friend gone too soon. Director Rajat Mukherjee (Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, Road). He was dealing with multiple health situations past few months in Jaipur. Hansal Mehta Shares A Message For Outsiders In Film Industry

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise has sparked a debate in Cinema industry, whether outsiders are treated fairly or not? Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to his social media profile and wrote a stunning message for “newcomers from outside” urging them to beware of the traps of Bollywood.

The filmmaker Hansal Mehta took Twitter to share a word of advice with a string of posts.

“There are many young ”outsiders” in this industry. Remember this — there is an establishment that will make you feel like the next big thing until they need you. They will drop you and mock you as soon as you falter. Do not fall for the trap,” he wrote.

“The ones that celebrate you will celebrate your downfall some time later. Success and failure are transient. You are not. Just be authentic, follow your heart and stop seeking acceptance from anybody. Your connection should be with your art, your craft and with your audience. Nothing else matters,” added the “Aligarh” maker.

The director continued: “Over the years you will succeed, you will stumble. But remember that nothing is more important than you. Look after yourself. And know that you matter. The world is much bigger and wiser than what you perceive. So are opportunities. If you stay they will be yours. Lots of love. Never lose heart.”

Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra residence on Sunday morning by his domestic help. He was reportedly battling depression over the past few months and undergoing treatment for the same.

Meanwhile on the work front, Hansal Mehta’s next directorial venture is titled Chhalaang, an upcoming social black comedy starring Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha.

It is produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg and Bhushan Kumar. The plot is set in a small town of Uttar Pradesh.
