Radhika Apte is one actress who has proven her mettle not only in bollywood feature films, but she is also considered to be the queen of web shows and short films. And now the actress is ready to conquer Hollywood too. Her film ‘A Call To Spy’ is all set to be released by IFC this fall. The actress shared the good news on her social media account.
Sharing the news the ‘Dev. D’ actress wrote, ‘Good news!! Our Film “A Call To Spy” to be released by IFC.” The actress shared the clipping from the famous website DEADLINE which states, “IFC Films has acquired North American rights to A Call To Spy, the feature directorial debut of Oscar nominated documentary producer Lydia Dean Pilcher about the unsung female heroes of WWII. IFC plans a fall release, Deadline has learned.
The film depicts the lives of three unsung female heroes of World War II including Virgina Hall and Vera Atkins. Radhika will be seen playing the role of British spy of Indian origins Noor Inayat Khan, who was a part of Churchill’s special spy agency.
The film has already been screened at the 2019 Edinburgh International Film Festival. The film is directed by Lydia Dean Pilcher and is an attempt to celebrate the lives of these unsung female spies. The film also features Stana Katic and Sarah Meghan Thomas. The rights of the film has been acquired by IFC Films and the film will be released later this year.
