India is in the phase 1 of its opening post a long lockdown but this will not mean that people can openly go out and enjoy. The fear of corona-virus is still lingering on in the country and everyone wants to keep themselves safe and sound. Entertainment Industry has been hit hardly by the pandemic and release of the films in theatres has become next to impossible. Therefore, the producers are now moving towards OTT platforms to release their movies.
We bring to you a list of 5 movies that will be releasing in the month of June on various OTT platforms. These movies are surely not to be missed:
Choked – This Anurag Kashyap movie’s trailer has already created the right buzz. The film tells the story of a bank employee who is under deep debts because of her husband and she finds cash flowing out of her kitchen sink in the backdrop of 2016 bank note demonitisation. Film stars Saiyaami Kher and Roshan Mathew in lead roles. The film streams on 5th June.
Gulabo Sitabo – Directed by Shoojit Sircar, this film is what audience cannot wait for! Film is a story of eponymous glove puppet characters, Gulabo and Sitabo who reside in Uttar Pradesh. It is a story full of local humour and songs depicting day to day struggle of a common man. Film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles. The film streams on 12th June.
Penguin – This south film will be making its premiere on Amazon prime on the 19th. This mystery thriller is directed by Eashvar Karthik and is a story of a pregnant woman played by Keerthy Suresh.
Law – Actress Ragini Chandran will make her debut with this Kannada film which is a story of a law graduate who is fighting her own case in the court. Veteran actor Mukhyamantri Chandru will be seen playing the role of judge in the film. The film has been written and directed by Raghu Samarth. The film streams on 26th June.
Ludo – This dark anthology comedy film directed by Anurag Basu features Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. The film is divided into four chapters each telling a different and unique story. Film will be released in the month of June on Netflix.
