Filmmaker Goldie Behl says that he support the decision of Shoojit Sircar and Anu Menon for releasing their films digitally.

Goldie expressed that OTT is the way now, and he fully support the decision of Shoojit Sircar, Anu Menon and more for releasing their movies on OTT as he understand their situation.

Talking about films like OTT platform blooming during lockdown and movies like ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ and ‘Shakuntala Devi’ heading for digital release, Goldie Behl said, “Absolutely it’s a good time to watch OTT because this is the right time to catch up on the series which we have missed. I really feel wonderful that producers and directors are able to display their contents on OTT as the theatres have been shut”

“I am also feeling glad for Shoojit and Anu as their movies are coming up on digital space and they have my complete support. I am happy that they could do this because I can understand the kind of headache and stress the producer goes through after making a film. And as a filmmaker, the only criterion is to reach the audience as fast as they can. So if OTT is the medium, I think it’s good” added Goldie.

Filmmaker Goldie Behl is back with the second season of RejctX, says he wants to create a trend of teenage thrillers and young adults’ fiction with series.

ZEE5’s web-series ‘RejctX’ revolves around a group of students of an elite school, and millennial issues like Gender fluidity, Body shaming, Personality disorder, and Porn Addiction, and music.

Talking about the thought behind creating RejctX, Goldie said, “I had done a series many years ago called ‘Remix’. The series was immensely successful. It was released around mid of the year 2000. After 15 years I felt that there has been no show on teenagers. So, I realized that we should make a show or a series that sets trends and certain standards in teenage thrillers and young adults’ fiction”

“Though I am much older now, I have a son who is 14 and an 18-year-old nephew, so I have sneak peek in their life. From their life’s I realized that the youth have changed so much from mid-2000 to mid-2019 to 2020. So, it was a great time to re-visualize young trendy shows and talk about the new value system and morality. There is also one big difference about the Indian Kid is that they are now a global kid. That’s why we send them to multinational schools and send them abroad. Today our kids are equal to any international kids. This thought actually inspired me a lot. Also, about the web series, ‘Rejctx’ when we started there was not much music in the series. It was we who started the trend of putting music in the series. On a personal level, I do like music and musical shows. I am glad that we started the trend of lip sing songs in the web series.”

The series stars Sumeet Vyas, Kubbra Sait, Anisha Victor, Masi Wali, Ridhi Khakhar and Esha Gupta.
