Article 15’ director Anubhav Sinha is all set to produce a movie on the ongoing global corona-virus pandemic. The anthology film, will features narrative from veteran filmmakers such as Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Ketan Mehta, and Subhash Kapoor.
The anthology film is not titled yet but the announcement has been made with filmmaker names, cast and crew details are yet to be revealed.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh dropped the confirmation on the project. He tweeted, “IT’S OFFICIAL…After #Thappad, Anubhav Sinha to produce an anthology film [not titled yet]…Based on stories and experiences from #CoronaVirus pandemic…#AnubhavSinha, #SudhirMishra, #HansalMehta, #KetanMehta and #SubhashKapoor will direct a story in this anthology film”
Later, Sinha shared the same information on Instagram by reposting the news shared by film critic Taran Adarsh.
In the post, it is mentioned that Sinha is set to produce an anthology film, which is based on the “stories and experiences” from the COVID-19 crisis. However, the casting, title of the movie, and more details are yet to be officially announced.
In 2019, Sinha produced and directed Article 15 under his production house Benaras Media Works with Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead. The film is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution, which is about prohibition of discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth.
Sinha helmed Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu, which released on 28th February 2020, and received highly positive reviews from critics, but was a moderate success at the box-office. Sinha is also the founder and owner of Benaras Media Works, the production company which he established in 2012 to produce his films and television projects.
