ZEE5 Drops Mafia Teaser And Release Date

ZEE5 is out with the first official teaser and release date of forthcoming web-series Mafia, and this one is little twisted tale of friends!

The official handle of ZEE5Premium dropped the teaser and deeds on the series. The caption read, “Taiyaar ho aap iss khel ke liye. The deadly game will begin from 10th July #MafiaOnZEE5 #GameForLife @aritrasen @rohanghose @BirsaDasgupta @dasnamit @tanmaydhanania @bose_anindita10 @m_ishaa @MadRoy1204 @RidhimaGhosh @EskayMovies”

Mafia’s story gives a fresh perspective to dynamics in relationships and friendships and gives a lot of psychological revelations over merely a couple of nights.

This series is produced by Parambrata Chatterjee and Birsa Dasgupta is going to make his directorial debut. The series stars Ishaa Saha, Ridhima Ghosh, Madhurima Roy Ankita Chakraborty, and Namit Das.

Mafia features six former college friends that will come together after an unprecedented halt of 5 years in their friendship. It is set in the backdrop of quaint dark jungles of Jharkhand with its centre story revolving around a reunion party that is brewing with fun, intimacy, hatred and past betrayal.

Series will toggle viewers with the actual game’s narrative and tactic on to the lives of six friends (players) turning this mystery drama into a faint psychological thriller. Will they have to confront and pay for their lies? Or will the players catch the mafia?

The series streams on 10th July 2020.

ZEE5 Confirms The Release Date Of ‘Unlock: The Haunted App’

Hina Khan is known for experimenting. She is now back with a horror film titled ‘Unlock: The Haunted App’ which is going to release on ZEE5 on 27 June. The film also stars Kushal Tandon in lead role alongside her and this will be the first time when the duo will be seen sharing the screen together.

The official handle of ZEE5 dropped the deeds on release dates with a stunning teaser. The caption read, “Got a dark side you want to #Unlock? We’ll make your wish come true. The film is directed by Debatma Mandal and is produced by Krasnaya Corporation LLP and Horse Films LLP. The film features Hina Khan, Kushal Tandon, Aditi Arya and Rishabh Sinha.

Kushal Tandon also shared about it and wrote, “The genre of dark web is not explored in Bollywood and is extremely synonyms to the times we are living in. The reality is getting blurred with digital advancement and who knows, soon we will have an assistant voice as our best friend! Unlock premiers on 27th! What if ur three wishes are granted, but with a price”

The film revolves around the life of Suhani played by Hina, who is deeply in love with Amar played by Kushal. Soon, she realises that she is losing her love to her flatmate. Her obsession with Amar takes her to the dark web and she decides to use an app which can fulfill three wishes of her. However, before each wish is granted she has to complete a task that the app asks her to do.

The film will release on 27th June only on ZEE5.

Hina Khan All Set For Her New Film ‘Unlock: The Haunted App’

Actor Hina Khan is all geared up for her upcoming film ‘Unlock: The Haunted App’. The ‘Hacked’ actor took to her Instagram handle and tip-off her fans about dubbing the film. Getting emotional the actor also expressed that there is a struggle in every actor’s life. In the end, the only thing they anticipate is the support and love of fans. Hina will be portraying the role of Suhani and she is quite enthusiastic about it.

Hina Khan shared a series of Instagram stories, where she updates about the ongoing dubbing of the film. On such story read, “Dubbing on for #UnlockTheHauntedApp coming soon An actor life is all about struggle and Risks in Return what they need is only and only support and Appreciation Can’t wait to meet Suhani.”

About the film, Hina Khan and Kushal Tandon are all set to create magic on big screens with their upcoming ZEE5 Original Horror film ‘Unlock: The Haunted App. Hina and Kushal will be seen together for the first time. The film is helmed by Debatma Mandal.

The story of the horror-thriller drama revolves around a scary app that grants one’s darkest wishes. The film is produced by Krasnaya Corporation LLP and Horse Films LLP.

In the horror film, Hina will be seen essaying the role of Suhani and her character will surely keep the audiences glued to the screen. In the movie, Hina aka Suhani and Kushal aka Amar are in a relationship. Suddenly, Suhani realizes that she is losing her beau Amar to her flat mate Riddhi. Suhani tries her level best to make things right and installs an app that grants darkest wishes.

The release date is still not finalized.

Urvashi Rautela’s ‘Virgin Bhanupriya’ to release on ZEE5

Yet, another film gets ready to be released on the OTT platform. After ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, ‘Shakuntala Devi’ , ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, Urvashi Rautela’s ‘Virgin Bhaunpriya’ is all set to be premiered on ZEE5.

The official page of ZEE5 Premium shared the news on twitter and tweeted,” Get ready to go on a roller coaster ride with ‘#VirginBhanupriya’, starring  @UrvashiRautela in the lead role. A quirky comedy of a college going conservative girl in search of a suitable partner. Will she find her perfect suitor? #ComingSoon #WorldDigitalPremiere”

Film is about a conservative girl who is looking  for a suitable partner. But all her attempts go in vain one after the other. The film is a family comedy that explores relationship between youngsters and their families. Urvashi Rautela plays the lead role ‘Bhanupriya’ in the film.

The film also features Gautam Gulati, Archana Puran Singh, Delnaaz Irani, Rajiv Gupta and Brijendra Kala, Niki Aneja Walia and Rumana Molla. Film is directed by Ajay Lohan and produced by Shreyans Mahendra Dhariwal.

Owing to Covid-19 pandemic, the film which was slated for a theaterical release will now be released on ZEE5. Date of the release has not been announced yet.

ZEE5 series ‘Lal Bazaar’ To Be Premiered On 19th June

ZEE5 Celebrates 1 Year Of Kaafir

‘Kaafir’ a hard hitting political drama which consists of eight episodes was released on Zee5 on 15th June, 2019. Today, the show completes its one year of release. On this occasion, the team of ‘Kaafir’ celebrated it with a heart warming video giving out a beautiful message.

In the video, one can see the starcast of the show thanking their fans for their immense love and also making a plead to always follow the path of humanity.

‘Kaafir’ is a story of a recently married Pakistani woman Kainaaz Akhtar who tries to commit suicide but winds up in the Indian side of Line of Control (LOC) and is deemed to be a pakistani militant and gets imprisoned for seven years. During her trial in jail, she also gives birth to a daughter and names her Sehar.

Lawyer turned journalist Vedant gets to see the footage of Sehar in one of his projects. He gets to know the plight of Sehar and Kainaaz and decides to bring justice to them. Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina shine in this show beautifully directed by Sonam Nair who captures the turmoil of the innocent men and women who get caught and are thrown into jail.

Show has a total of eight episodes and all of them are equally fascinating and intriguing. Each episode is beautifully woven with the other and ends up in asking for more.

‘Chintu Ka Birthday’ is a small budget film with a big surprise; perfect to beat the Lockdown blues

Quarantine has made us watch so many films of different genres, that now if you are looking for a simple modest film which brings a smile to your face. ‘Chintu ka birthday’ is definitely your go to movie!! It is a simple story that deals with the bonding of a family during tough times like war.

Chintu Ka Birthday Zee5

Chintu Ka Birthday is a story of a 6 year old boy named Chintu, stuck in Iraq with family at the times of Saddam’s fall. It is his 6th Birthday and the family promises to throw a birthday party for him as last year his birthday could not be celebrated. This birthday party in a war torn Baghdad becomes the centre of the film. The entire film revolves around the family trying to have a normal birthday celebration amidst their barbaric surroundings.

Vinay Pathak is excellent as Chintu’s father and and the film is an ode to a father for whom the happiness of his child is supreme. Tilotama Shome is delightful as a mother and Seema Pahwa as the nagging mother in law is amazing. The kids Bisha Chaturvedi and Vedant Chibber are a treat to watch and are quite adorable. All of them have acted so naturally that their brilliant acting has become the heart of this story of a simple middle class family.

Chintu Ka Birthday Zee5

Chintu ka Birthday is beautifully written and directed by Devanshu Kumar and Satyanshu Singh. It is definitely a writer’s film with such heart warming screenplay. The film is produced by the men behind AIB (Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya, Gursimran Khamba). Beautiful stories like these are rarely told!!

Ajay Devgn Unveils Lal Bazaar Teaser By ZEE5

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took to social media to announce a new ZEE5 series Lal Bazaar, unveils the first teaser of crime caper.

Ajay Devgn has done the voiceover for the teaser. The one-minute clip gives us a glimpse of what we can expect from the police crime thriller. Devgn’s voiceover sets the gory tone of the series. While not much of the plot is revealed, the teaser is intriguing and promises a dynamic story about crime underworld and how law comes into play.

The series is set against Kolkata’s iconic police headquarters building, Lalbazaar. The series directed by Sayantan Ghosal features Koushik Sen, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and Subrat Dutta among others. The series will premiere on 19 June.

Meanwhile on the work front, Ajay will be seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India alongside Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati, Parineeti Chopra and Sonakshi Sinha in the historical drama.

Sumeet Vyas shared  throwback photos and video with the audience from the sets of his web show ‘The Verdict- State vs Nanavati’ where he played the role of the famous Ram Jethmalani.

Sharing the video of how he used to get transformed into the famous lawyer Ram Jethmalani’s character he wrote, “#transformers #theverdictstatevsnanavati @ektakapoor #postlockdownlook”

The producer of the show Ekta Kapoor also replied to his post and said, “U were so so good.”

The Verdict- State vs Nanavati is a mystery web series that revolves around 1959 Indian Judiciary case K.M. Nanavati v. State of Maharasthra where an Indian Naval Command Officer, Kawas Nanvati is accused of murder of Prem Ahuja. Akshay Kumar starrer film ‘Rustom’ was also loosely based on this case.

‘Permanent Roommates’ star Sumeet Vyas played the role of famous lawyer Ram Jethmalani in the web show. The show was produced by Ekta Kapoor for her online streaming platform AltBalaji. It is also available on Zee5.

Sumeet Vyas got married to actress Ekta Kaul in 2018 and the couple is now expecting their first child. The couple has been sharing photos and videos amidst the lockdown of how eagerly they are waiting for their child to come to this world.
