Tribute pours in for veteran actor Irrfan Khan, who passed away due to Cancer in Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday. The actor was admitted in hospital due to colon infection.

Bollywood celebrities such as Harshvardhan Kapoor, Kubbra Sait, Raveena Tandon, Tusshar Kapoor, Nimrat Kaur, Rakul Preet Singh and more took to their social media profile and expressed their grief.

Actor Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor shared, “Losing an actor like Irrfan is something that will collectively haunt us for many many years to come , difficult to articulate how I feel right now , very rarely do I speak like this but this ones going to be very very tough to accept RoseRip #IrrfanKhan”

Actress Kubbra Sait tweeted, “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un”

Actor Tusshar Kapoor tweeted, “RIP Irfan Khan sahab…..I’m sure your in a better place now…you and your work will live on forever!”

Actress Nimrat Kaur wrote, “Words fail to describe my sense of shock and horror to learn about Irrfan Khan’s passing away. My prayers and deepest condolences are with the family at this grave hour. India’s lost one of her biggest icons today. Our world left for the poorer…#IrrfanKhan #Forever”

Irrfan had undergone treatment abroad for several months in 2019, working on just one project in that time, director Homi Adajania’s Angrezi Medium. The actor lost his mother, Saeeda Begum, on Saturday, and was reported to have attended her funeral via video call. Irrfan’s mother was 95.

Irrfan’s career spanned several decades and industries. His most famous films include his debut, the Academy Award nominated Salaam Bombay!, Maqbool (2004), Paan Singh Tomar (2011), The Lunchbox (2013), Haider (2014), Gunday (2014), Piku (2015) and Talvar (2015) and Hindi Medium (2017).
