​Zeenat Aman to make a Comeback with Panipat

Veteran Actress Zeenat Aman is all set to make a comeback with forthcoming period drama, Panipat, also starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the leading roles.
The makers of the film just confirmed that Zeenat Aman will be seen playing the role of Sakina Begun. The film is helmed by Aushtosh Gowarikar.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the deeds on the role. He tweeted, “‏Zeenat Aman joins the cast of Ashutosh Gowariker’s #Panipat… Will essay the role of Sakina Begum… Stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon”
The film will depict the story behind third battle of Panipat, which was fought between the Maratha Empire and the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali. There were three battles of Panipat in total which shaped Mughal history and rule in the country.
The makers earlier release a teaser poster which heralds the beginning of a great war with visuals of a bejeweled sword, saffron flags and mighty armies headed towards a clash.
Period films are considered to be Gowariker’s forte. He has delivered massive hits Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar in the same genre. Although his last film, Mohenjo Daro, tanked at the box office, the expectations from Panipat are already seem high.
National Award winning art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai is recreating the majestic Shaniwar Wada at ND Studios, Karjat. Neeta Lulla is designing the costumes.
Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure is also a part of the ensemble. The film is currently slated for 6th December 2019 release.
