Veteran director and actor G Vijaya Nirmala passed away. The condolences messages from all quarters are pouring in for the respected and legendary actress. The actor was admitted to Continental Hospital, Gachibowli, where she breathed her last.

Vijaya Nirmala a pioneer film actress, producer and director known for her works predominantly in Telugu cinema. She has directed 44 films in Telugu. In 2002, she entered the Guinness Book of Records as the female director of the most films.
In 2008, she received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for her contributions to Telugu cinema. She, and fellow Telugu actress Savitri, are the only female directors to have directed the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan.
