Vidyut Jammwal, gearing up for the release of his next film ‘Junglee’, has said he feels happy to be part of the generation that has digital space to explore for work.
Jammwal interacted with the media on Saturday in Mumbai for the promotion of his upcoming action film.
Recently reports came forth of Bollywood’s big stars Shah Rukh, Akshay and Salman possibly collaborating with the digital giants like Netflix and amazon. When asked Vidyut if he would like to debut in diital space he said, “It is a very amazing medium and I would love to give it a try. What I love the most about it is that more people in the regional parts of our country don’t just have to turn to TV or movies. If they want to work on screen they have more and more options.”
Reminiscing on his own struggling days he said, “When I was new to the industry we just had two options it was either TV or movies but now the new generation has all these possibilities it makes me very happy. I am glad I get to see this change and that I am part of this generation,”
Vidyut has collaborated with Hollywood filmmaker Russell for the action film, asked about working with a well-known director he said, “Chuck sir is a known director. He made ‘The Mask’ with Jim Carrey, launched Dwayne Johnson in ‘The Scorpion King’ and worked with Arnold Schwarzenegger in ‘Eraser’. I was very happy to work with him.”
“He brings star value to the film, but doesn’t behave like a star on a film set,” he added.
‘Junglee’ revolves around a veterinary doctor who upon returning to his father’s elephant reserve encounters and fights an international poacher racket. It features Vidyut Jammwal, Pooja Sawant, Asha Bhat and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles.
‘Junglee’, an action thriller, is directed by Chuck Russell and produced by Junglee Pictures. The movie is set to release on March 29.
