Kangana Ranaut last seen in Manikarnika the Queen of Jhansi says the film and her performance deserves another national award, if not it would be the offend the institute values.

Kangana celebrated her birthday with the media and talking about her upcoming J Jayalalithaa biopic on Saturday.

Four times national award winner Kangana, when asked if she thinks her performance in Manikarnika deserves one too, she said, ” What happens at times it that some form of arts is so amazing to see that they have to be appreciated. May I am talking about myself, I don’t want to sound very objective but if you don’t show appreciation for such well-deserved projects then is it offending in a way for the institute itself.

So, I believe if I don’t receive a national award for Manikarnika it would question the national award’s creditability.  Because you put in that kind of hard work into it, and yes of course if there are any other projects that deserve it I will objective enough to say it that they are better than me.” she added.

Talking about last years performances and her expectations in future she added, “Last year Tabu-ji was amazing AndhaDhun. I am flawed by what she has done in the film. But in the coming months if there is a better performance then Manikarnika it would be revolutionary I would greatly appreciate that. But I don’t think it can be possible.”

Ranaut’s upcoming projects are Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya with Rajkummar Rao and recently announced, J Jayalalithaa biopic in Tamil.  Titled ‘Thalaivi’ the film is said to be directed by Vijay.
