Ankita Lokhande And Kangana Ranaut Joins ‘Candle4SSR’ Online Protest

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande and Kangana Ranaut were among celebrities who joined his fans to take part in the Candle4SSR online protest, initiated as a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput and to demand justice for the late actor.

Sharing an image on Instagram, Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Ankita also penned a note for Sushant, she wrote, “HOPE, PRAYERS AND STRENGTH!! Keep smiling wherever you are”

The digital protest called upon everyone to light a candle in Sushant’s name at 8pm. Fans of the late actor’s participated in the protest.

Kangana lit a candle to show solidarity with the movement, a picture of which was posted by her Twitter team, which goes by the name of Team Kangana Ranaut, on their unverified Twitter account.

Earlier, Ishkaran Singh Bhandari, lawyer of former Cabinet minister Subramanian Swamy, had initiated the peaceful digital protest #Candle4SSR demanding justice for Sushant, who passed away last month.

The protest, #Candle4SSR, is also a peaceful way of requesting authorities to initiate a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the actor’s untimely demise.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra ‘Drove Me Close To Suicide’ Claims Writer Chetan Bhagat

Since past few days, blame game has gone to another level in Hindi film industry. Every other person from the industry is raking up their old wounds after sudden death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. And the latest entrant in that club is writer Chetan Bhagat who has accused filmmaker-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra for harassing him during the release of ‘3 Idiots’. Replying to Chopra’s wife film critic Anupama Chopra’s tweet, Bhagat claimed that Vidhu Vinod Chopra “bullied” him and “drove him close to suicide”.

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai in June 2020, at age 34. His last film ‘Dil Bechara’ co-starring Sanjana Sanghi is going to release on 24th July on an online streaming platform. It all started when Bhagat asked film critics not to unnecessarily criticize last film of the late actor.

He tweeted, “Sushant’s last film releases this week. I want to tell the snob and elitist critics right now, write sensibly. Don’t act oversmart. Don’t write rubbish. Be fair and sensible. Don’t try your dirty tricks. You have ruined enough lives. Now stop. We’ll be watching.”

Film critics Anupama Chopra replied to Bhagat’s tweet by writing, “Each time you think the discourse can’t get lower, it does!”

Giving back to Anupama Chopra, Bhagat wrote in his tweet, “Ma’am, when your husband publicly bullied me, shamelessly collected all the best story awards, tried denying me credit for my story and drove me close to suicide, and you just watched, where was your discourse?”

Mr Bhagat’s book ‘Five Point Someone’ was the basis for 2009 blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’, starring actors Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi as the titular “idiots.” The film was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra who, Mr Bhagat claimed at the time of release, had been unfair to him over writing credits for the film.

‘3 Idiots’ became instantly controversial upon its release in 2009. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and director Rajkumar Hirani had bought the rights to ‘Five Point Someone’ and while the words “based on the novel by Chetan Bhagat” do appear in the film, they are placed in the closing credits rather than the opening titles where Mr Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi are credited for the story and screenplay.

Mr Hirani and Mr Joshi collected the Best Story prize at the Filmfare and IIFA Awards the year ‘3 Idiots’ released.

‘Dil Bechara’ Title Song Will Be Out Today

The official trailer released earlier this week of ‘Dil Bechara’ gave the impression as if actor Sushant Singh Rajput has come back. Now it’s the title track teaser of the film, which will make his fans more enthusiastic. The makers of the film have released the teaser of the title track which will be out today!

Music Maestro A.R. Rahman took to his twitter handle and announced the same. Sharing the teaser video, singer AR Rahman, who has sung the track, tweeted: “Dil Bechara title track is a reflection of Manny’s lively soul and the way he brightens Kizie’s life with hope and love.”

In the teaser Sushant as usual is looking quite stunning and happy go, guy. His twinkling eyes and charming smile will keep you glued to the screen. The teaser of the track ‘Dil Bechara’ starts with Sushant Singh Rajput sliding across the dance floor in a sports jersey and owning the stage with his adorable smile as the spotlight follows him.

‘Dil Bechara’ is an onscreen adaptation of John Green’s book The Fault In Our Stars and it also features Sanjana Sanghi playing the lead role – Kizie, who is a cancer patient.

The trailer released earlier this week and has been trending on social media since then. It has also emerged as the most liked trailer on YouTube, surpassing the Marvel’s film Avengers: Endgame.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali Record His Statement In Sushant Singh Rajput’s Case

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been summoned by Mumbai police in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case, the filmmaker visits Bandra police station to record his statement.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali will be interrogated over two of his films – ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ – which apparently were first offered to Sushant but later went to different actor.

It’s been reported that Sushant couldn’t star in both the movies because of his contract with Yash Raj Films (YRF). Hence, Bhansali will be questioned over these past developments and also if Sushant was under any pressure by YRF.

Earlier, YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma was also questioned by Mumbai Police. Sushant had starred in two films – ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’ – under the YRF banner.

Apart from Bhansali, Shanoo Sharma and 28 other people have been questioned in Sushant’s death case including ‘Dil Bechara’ co-star Sanjana Sanghi’s, whose statement was also recorded last week.

Sushant Singh Rajput died at the age of 34 by suicide. He was said to be under stress and depression for some months.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently announced his next venture with Alia Bhatt, titled Gangubai Kathiawadi, a biographical crime film based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has left a deep impact on the minds of people. His death has sparked a fresh discussion about mental health.

Actor Amit Sadh who made a mark in Bollywood with ‘Kai Poche’ shared a very emotional note on mental illness on his Instagram. Emphasizing more, Amit expressed that, due to the lack of understanding of the society people are disposed and left crestfallen. Amit believes that if people change their poor attitude and false assumptions, they can build a better society.

The note of Amit Instagram read, “The problem with today’s society is that we don’t take the time to get to know and understand one another. We just make assumptions with our poor attitude. So we dispose of people just like that, which leaves people broken.”

Adding to it, Amit captioned his post, “I think it will be great if we become more gentle with each other…More patience for one another…Some “ benefit of doubt “ !!###Thankyou, for allowing me to share my life, my work and my thoughts .#lovemore”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Amit will be seen in the second season of the Amazon Prime series, ‘Breathe: Into The Shadows’. It is a crime thriller created and produced by Abundantia Entertainment. Amit Sadh in the series will be seen in the reprising role as senior inspector Kabir Sawant.

Slated to release on 10th July 2020 the Amazon Original also features popular actors Nithya Menen and Sayami Kher in prominent roles. Breathe is created and directed by Mayank Sharma and written by Bhavani Iyer, Vikram Tuli, Arshad Syed and Mayank Sharma.

Abu Malik Slams Sonu Nigam For Calling Industry As Mafia And Nepotism Promoter

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has raised the question of nepotism and mental illness. A lot of celebrities have come forward and openly slammed the movie mafia for promoting nepotism. Sonu Nigam to be one of them shared an IGTV video, talking about the music mafia.

Abu Malik commenting on Sonu’s views said that the song gets popular because of big music companies and not by any singer or composer. Their investment and marketing make them stand in the market and not only their talents. He further expressed that Sonu is a good singer and a great stage performer. He should understand that nepotism is everywhere. In the doctors’ field, lawyers’ field and other fields as well.

Abu also stated that Sonu Nigam, Arjit Singh, Shreya Ghosal being an outsider are an established singer. And if their kids want to be the same than again there will nepotism issues. Hence there is no end to this.

Talking on the same Abu said, “No doubt Sonu Nigam is a great artist, he is a great stage performer. But there are millions of people who are not able to make even 10000 or 20000 rupees on stage. And there are established singers who make crores and crores of rupees. There is a lot of partition attitude, not only in the film industry but also in the music industry. The composers select singers of their own choices. They make a contract with them and ask them to work according to them because singing is not a big thing. But to do marketing and to do investment is very important. It is due to marketing and investment the song gets popular and not by composing and singing”

“Because if there is no marketing it will not reach out to millions, so actually, the song get popular because of music companies and not because of only composers and singers”

“Filmmakers like Karan Johar, Yash Raj Films, and also the big actors are powerful. It all depends upon them with whom they want to sign the contract and to whom they want to reject. I think this is in every business and every field. Talking about nepotism I believe that lawyers’ son will become a lawyer doctors’ son will become a doctor, then this is also nepotism. If the actor son becomes an actor so it’s not a big deal. If a singer’s son becomes a singer music director son becomes a music director and doesn’t allow the outsiders, it’s completely their choice. Mostly you will see that the outsiders only rule in the industry. Like Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal they all are outsiders they are not from this line. So those who are actually ruling in the industry all are outsiders. In the future when their children will come into this line again there will be nepotism issues. I believe that there is no end to this. This will go on and on.”

Shanghai Is Extremely Relevant Today Says Abhay Deol

Actor Abhay Deol just took to his social media profile and drew a parallel between his 2012 release Sanghai and current politically charged Bollywood!

Since the sad demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, Abhay Deol has been dropping one bomb after the other by talking openly and truthfully about the recent buzzword ‘Nepotism’. He has not been mincing words since then and today he has come up with another hashtag #MakingWhatBollywoodWouldnt by comparing it to his critically acclaimed movie ‘Shanghai’.

The ‘DEV. D’ actor shared a poster of his film ‘Shanghai’ and wrote, “Shanghai, released in 2012. A contemporary Indian take on the Greek NOVEL “Z” by author Vassilis Vassilikos. Directed by Dibakar Banerji this film puts systemic corruption in politics front and center, with devastating impact. Extremely relevant today. Looks like these days one could make a film about the corrupt practices of Bollywood! By the way, not sure if the current outrage will give rise to an Independent Hindi film and music industry, without the unoriginal tag of ” bollywood”, but it sure feels good to hear loud voices from within the industry, risking their careers for the bigger “picture” (pun intended).( @priyasreedharan we gotta make another movie!
