Actress Padmini Kolhapure who has worked with Rishi Kapoor in countless hit films, including Prem Rog, says she is shell-shocked with his demise and industry has lost such a shining and important star.
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away, he was hospitalised on Wednesday morning after complaining that he was not feeling well. He was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. Wife Neetu Kapoor was at his side.
Padmini Kolhapure has worked with Rishi Kapoor in numerous films, expressed her shock. She said, “I am totally shell-shocked, I don’t think I am able to process my feelings and express them. This is a personal loss for me, and I am feeling so helpless and weak right now. I am not able to do anything or even move out and lend a helping hand. I cannot see him, attend his last rites, take his parting blessings; I cannot do nothing, except sit at home and pray for him and his family”
“Artist like him, actor like him, a good human being like him, is hard to find. The industry will be silent after Rishi Kapoor. The way he would get on social media, tweet about things, he would go on television, his presence was always felt. Now the industry will be silent for a long time. I am feeling empty right now” added Poonam.
Further adding, Rishi Kapoor’s demise is tremendous loss for industry, as he was so full of energy and alive.
She said, “It is a tremendous and huge loss for the film industry. A huge artist, actor, human being has left us forever; a shining and important star has left us. His absence will be felt forever”
“He was such a happy person, every time he would be on sets, the entire studio would be buzzing. There is so much one could talk about Rishi Kapoor, but my mind is reeling right now, I don’t think I can talk anymore.”
In 2018, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer for the first time, following which the actor was in New York for nearly a year to undergo treatment. He returned to India in September 2019 after recovering.
Post return to India, his health has frequently been in focus. The actor was admitted to hospital in quick succession in February. Amid speculations about his health, he had been hospitalised in New Delhi in early February, while on a visit to New Delhi.
