Director Ashwini Chaudhary who is gearing up for the release of ‘Setters’ talked about MeToo movement and said we should be thankful to Tanushree as things changed in the industry because of her.

Setters that also stars Tanushree Dutta’s sister Ishita in a pivotal role, during a media interaction on the trailer launch was asked to comment on Tanushree criticizing Ajay for working with Alok Nath. The actress refused to make a comment at the time but she cleared that she supports her sister.

However, the director of Setters, Ashwini Chaudhary praised Tanushree for her efforts, “Of course, we are disappointed (on Ajay working with Alok Nath), I have done a film with Tanu (Tanushree) ‘Good Boy Bad Boy’ and I think the initiative which she took is great. Thanks to her things changed in the industry, in a sense that the ones who would misbehave will think a thousand times before doing anything like that. But I also think the action that should have been taken on the culprits and the way industry should have reacted hasn’t happened yet.”

After Ajay faced backlash from fans for working with Alok Nath. Tanushree called him “morally bankrupt and a spineless hypocrite”, Vinta Nanda said she “did not expect anything” from him.

Ashwini also added that he will also take a stand in support of women and so will every one of the Setters team. “People should have come out more strongly against the culprits, everyone should have taken a stand I always did and I am still here even while promoting Setters I am taking a stand. And I think no matter at which platform you are on you should always answer the question if it is Me Too related.”

The makers recently released a rap song from the film titled, ‘Kartootein’ that share glimpses from the film based on a racket which arranges brilliant students to appear in examinations in place of the real candidate for money.

Starring Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani, Sonnalli Seygall, Vijay Raaz, Ishita Dutta. Pavan Malhotra, Jameel Khan, and Pankaj Jha, the film is directed by Ashwini Chaudhary Setters is set to release on 3rd May.
